Icing on the Cake Kaua’i, owned by award winning Pastry Chef Andrea Quinn and her husband, Patrick Quinn, creates delicate treats for one, ten or a hundred at their small pastry shop located in Kinipopo Shopping Village in Kapa’a, Kaua’i.  At first, Quinn started the business in 2004 specializing in supplying wholesale cakes, cookies, scones, candies and pastries for weddings and special events.  But after finding a convenient location for a shop, the Quinn’s opened their delicious creations to the community in August 2009.

“I love baking cakes and working with happy people who are getting married or other people who just come in to get a little treat,” said Andrea Quinn.

Quinn attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and decided from there that being a pastry chef was her calling.  The Quinns offer delicious handmade treats while only using the finest ingredients, organic when possible, to create delectable top selling creations such as their coconut macaroons made with organic unsweetened coconut, sugar, honey and egg whites.  The coconut macaroons have even helped pay for their website alone.

“We’re very excited to cook for the public as well as doing weddings,” said Quinn.

They offer specially created signature cakes for weddings, birthdays and parties for every occasion, and for after cake coffee they serve Blue Bottle Coffee along with premium whole leaf tea.

It’s a lot different from the French macaroons that I’ve had while abroad, but those look amazing as well! Quinn would be a genius if she starts making pastries in Kauai or Oahu shapes.
